I've got it looking good now, just trying it out in game. If I run into any more problems though, I'll give you a shout :)

The main issue is probably that I don't like starting out easy - could have put flats on something, but I like to understand what I am doing, not just follow a tutorial, so I picked something a little more challenging. Namely Sentate's Military boots, because they are beautiful and almost identical to some shoes I own. Gave me an excuse to really play around with things because bugger trying to texture around the boots! Managed to get boots and legs separate mapping. Pretty damn proud for my first mesh edit.
